I Just Have To!

Filed under: Fat Loss — @ 4:40 pm

My sister’s wedding is coming up here in a few short months and there is one major thing that I have been putting off, but I can’t put it off anymore. I need to slim down a little bit so I will look fantastic with the Salt Lake wedding photography company my sister hired.  So because of that, I’ve been doing a little research online on great ways to slim down and feel a whole lot better. I just came across a MSN article about ways to cut down on calories each day just by substituting what you would normally eat.
Here are some of the tips that I thought were fantastic:

Instead of eating some banana bread, mash a banana with peanut butter and put it on your whole wheat toast. This can save you about 260 calories in one sitting. Now, that is a great!

Replacing with a one-inch square of […]

Reduce Stress

Filed under: Fat Loss — @ 10:53 am

When we are overly stressed, our bodies retain and gain weight. Our metabolisms slow down when we suffer from chronic stress. But there are ways to eliminate this chronic stress and regain control of our health. If you find yourself in this position of stress, consider the following ways to de-stress you life:

Simplify your schedule. One reason we suffer from chronic stress is because we inundate our calendars with “necessities”. Simplify it. Take out what isn’t necessary. Get down to the bare bones. Once you get in control of your schedule where it isn’t a stress issue anymore, then you can pick it back up.
Take some time for yourself. This goes back to the first bullet on this list. Because our schedules are so full, we don’t leave time for ourselves to relax and just enjoy life. So if you have to, write on your calendar specific time that you […]

Cut Calories Sans The Counting

Filed under: Tips, advice, Fat Loss, Weight Loss — @ 10:23 am

I’ve been doing quite a bit of research lately, trying to figure out what the best diet and exercise regiment would be for me.  I’ve analyzed the best cardio programs, searched for obscenely healthy recipes, read all about weight supplements including Akavar reviews, and severely cut back on the sugar I bring into the house.  And while I’m certainly not obese, I could definitely stand to shed a few pounds.  Thus began my quest…how to cut calories without actually having to count them.  Lest you think it can’t be done, I assure you it can…by following simple food rules such as these:

Incorporate fruit and veggies into your diet.  Buy what’s in season and what you really like - cut them up, stock up your fridge, and enjoy a tasty yet healthy snack when you feel […]

The Right Tunes

Filed under: Fat Loss — @ 6:03 pm

For me, working out requires the right music. I can’t run to classical music, elevator music, or some sort of on hold recording that you hear on the phone. It just doesn’t work. I need something with a great beat–something that will inspire me to keep my feet moving and the calories jumping right off my butt. And as long as they don’t come back to me, I don’t care where they go.
But back to the point: You just have to have awesome music to get pumped up and ready to work hard. Here are my favorite songs–in no particular order– to work out too:

Kenny Loggins: “Eye of the Tiger”
Kanye West: “Stronger”
Rihanna: “Please Don’t Stop the Music”
Gnarls Barkley: “Crazy”
Cyndi Lauper: “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”
Black Eyed Peas: “Pump It”
Michael Jackson: “Smooth Criminal”
Elvis: “Little Less Conversation”
RedNex: “Cotton Eyed Joe”
Trapt: “Head Strong”
Chris Brown: “Run It”
Drew Sidora: “‘Til The Dawn”
Veronicas: “4Ever”
Michael Buble: […]

Keep Your Sizzlin’ Summer Bod!

Filed under: Fat Loss, Diet, Exercise — @ 3:10 pm

As of June 21st summer is officially here and a swimsuit is my preferred piece of clothing.  I feel like some days I go straight from my pajamas, to my swimsuit, and then back to my pajamas. Although the hype of the spring crash diet has passed, it’s still important to stay on top of your health.  With backyard barbeques and fun filled vacations, here are a few quick tips to make sure you stay in shape and keep that killer summer bod.

Drink lots of water! It’s easy to get dehydrated in such hot weather, so drink up.  Water also helps curb your appetite so you won’t find yourself snacking throughout day.
If you get hungry snack on watermelon, grapes, honeydew- anything that has high water […]

The Perfect Vitamins For You

Filed under: Fat Loss — @ 11:51 am

There seems to be a lot of guess work involved in finding the right vitamins and nutrients that your body really needs. Most people won’t go get blood work done to determine what their body is lacking and what types of vitamins could be beneficial for their health. Because of this, many tend to just choose what looks good.

But there is now a better way to get the nutrients you need–spot on. Code Nutrition offers customized vitamins–based on your DNA. They will send you a cheek swab kit. Once you return it, they will see exactly what your body needs, and then you will receive it every month. No need to go to the store and cruise that vitamin aisle. It comes right to your door. This summer, you will be healthy, happy, and vibrant–with your body getting all the nutrients it needs.

Is Extreme Stress Making You Fat?

Filed under: Fat Loss — @ 5:30 pm

It’s true. Stress CAN make you fat. Just what you needed to hear, right? When you are stressed, your body changes and shifts. If you are in a prolonged stressed state (chronic stress), it can greatly damage your health. Remember, people react to stress differently: some overeat and some can’t sleep; just to name a few. Extreme stress is definitely not good for a healthy mind and body.

I know, I know. It is extremely hard, if not impossible, to eliminate stress from our daily lives. Stress is a part of life. But another part of life is dealing with stress and finding beneficial, relevant, and effective ways to relieve it.
Here are some common stresses:

Mortgage Payment: In my experience, this is one of the most stressful reoccurring things in my life.  There it is; a thirty year loan just hanging out. You can either stress like crazy over it or find […]

Live A Healthier Life

Filed under: Fat Loss — @ 1:49 pm

Let’s face it; the world is going “green”. Since it doesn’t look like it will be reverting back to our wasteful ways anytime soon, we had might as well get on the boat. If you are anything like me, there is absolutely no way on God’s green planet that I would ever be able to afford a “green” car. Unless I win the lottery, I am just going to have to stay with my eco unfriendly mode o’ transportation. But we do have alternatives (you know, us non-celebrity people. The people who actually have to live paycheck to paycheck sometimes because our faces on water bottles isn’t making us millions. Not that I am bitter or anything). Our alternative is natural remedies/healthcare. Essential oils have been around for centuries; and they just keep gaining in popularity. As Mugatu from Zoolander would say, “Essential Oils are so hot right now”.

But in […]

Dreaded Swimsuit Season

Filed under: Fat Loss — @ 12:57 pm

The truth is…it is coming! Swimsuit season is here for some of the country, while other states are still having not-so-great weather. But eventually, it will come–the time to shed your winter clothes and show off your toned body (we all wish, right!?!?). Here are some quick tips to get you a little more ready and comfortable to wear your swimsuit in public:

Get a little bit of a tan: This really  helps make you appear more lean, firm, and toned. Also, I’ve found that my cellulite is less visible when I am tan. But remember to do this in moderation. Some people a little too tan. Sometimes they turn orange or leathery…yeah, avoid that.
Jump-Start Your Diet: Get some Akavar weight loss pills. This can really help with losing those few stubborn extra pounds.
Drink More Water: This will help flush the water your body is  holding onto. You’d be surprised at […]
