Energy Supplements for Extreme Athletes

Filed under: Energy, Exercise — @ 1:58 pm

Whether you’re training for a marathon or extreme mountain biking, what’s the best way to keep your energy levels up?  Well, here are a few of my favorite…
Spark Caffeinated Drink Mix
Simply empty the packet into your bottled water, shake, and wa-la! You’ve got a drink with enough caffeine to keep you going strong and stay hydrated.  Since you lose so much water during strenuous activity, make sure you keep sipping for the duration of your workout.
Zantrex-3
An energy supplement such as Zantrex can provide a quick boost if you are starting to slow down or drag – and even better, its in pill form so its small and all you need is water to wash it down.
PowerBars
Packed with vitamins, protein, and carbs, a PowerBar is just what you need if you’re working out or running for any length of time.  Plus, it comes in a variety of delicious flavors.
Jelly […]

Isagenix Study : The Science Behind the Lose 7 Pounds in 9 Days Claim

I couldn’t find this anywhere publicly available on the ‘net and think it should be available (you can get it in the ‘back office’ as a PDF if you’re an Independent Isagenix Associate … but the people who really need to see this are the ones who haven’t tried Isagenix yet). This is the scientific study on the Isagenix 9 Day Cleanse program. I have quoted it verbatim and only added bolding to emphasise the headings, etc. I plan on posting some comments ont this when I get a chance, but for now here it is.

Master Cleanse debate on radio talk show

I have written many times about the Master Cleanse program in this blog (links provided at the end of this post). My comments have been covered by the Associated Press and are also on Wikipedia. Most recently, however, was a radio talk show virtual debate between Peter Glickman, a major proponent of the Master Cleanse, and myself, taking a more negative position.
The program aired live on Saturday January 19, 2008 on KCRW, a public radio station in Los Angeles. The show was part of a weekly food program called Good Food, hosted by Evan Kleiman. But if you’re interested, you can access the show’s archive at any time simply by visiting the KCRW web page. When you get there, you’ll find a description of the entire show, including all the guests. Near the top of the page, under the date, you can either click on […]

Weight Loss Tip 71: Add Almonds- The Warrior Food

Almonds are top on the list of foods that fight the flab and battle the bulge.
They can actually help to prevent the cravings that lead to overeating and weight gain. What’s more is that they are filled with protein and fiber, not to mention vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant. These mighty miracles are also a good source of magnesium, a mineral your body must have in order to produce energy, build and maintain muscle tissue, and regulate blood sugar.
Research has also been done on the almonds ability to block calories. That’s right, the composition of their cell walls may help reduce the absorption of all of their fat, making lean with an added punch.
Try adding an ounce a day (about 24 almonds 150 calories) to you arsenal.
